Daily Drip: verify a big list a set number a day, into one or more campaigns

Upload a list of up to 50,000 once. On each campaign's sending days, just before its window opens, MailFleet checks that campaign's share of the next addresses with your plan's daily email checks and adds the results you choose to it — so you don't need checks for the whole list up front, or to upload it in chunks.

Where: Email Verification (left nav) → Daily Drip tab → New Daily Drip; a drip's own page (the live flow, its campaigns and every row): Daily Drip tab → click its name

How to do it

  1. Open Email Verification and pick the Daily Drip tab.
  2. Drop a CSV here (or Choose File) and pick the Email column if it isn't detected. A file can hold up to 50,000 rows. Every other column is kept, so names, companies and your own columns become the lead's fields and {{variables}}.
  3. Under Campaigns, pick the campaign the results go to — any email or Multi Channel campaign that hasn't finished. Click Add Campaign to feed more than one.
  4. Choose how the daily number is split: By Share (%) — set Checked a day and each campaign's percent (they add up to 100%; Spread Evenly divides it equally) — or By Number A Day — a number for each campaign. The line under it reads, for example, "300 a day → Spring Outreach 180 (60%), Q4 Multi-Touch 120 (40%)".
  5. For each campaign, tick the results it takes (Adds Valid / Catch-all / Invalid / Unknown) — Valid is ticked to start. Each row also shows that campaign's first run, in its own time zone.
  6. Under New leads go into, keep A New List (named after the drip) or pick An Existing List.
  7. Read the summary and the flow it draws — for example "9,738 addresses · 300 checked a day · about 46 days · goes to Spring Outreach (60%), Q4 Multi-Touch (40%)", with how many are skipped and why — and click Start Daily Drip.
  8. Follow it under Your Daily Drips, or open the drip for the live flow: the list, verification, the four result groups and each campaign, with edges as thick as what went along them and their percentages. Pause, Resume, Edit, Download CSV and Cancel are on each row (More) and on the drip's page.

Good to know

  • When it runs: on each campaign's own sending days, 30 minutes before its sending window opens, in that campaign's time zone, the campaign's share of the next addresses is checked; when the results are in (usually a minute or two), the ones it takes are added at once, so they're there when it starts sending. On a day the campaign doesn't send, nothing is checked or added for it and no checks are used for it. If a run's start is missed, it still runs before that day's window closes.
  • Addresses are shared out in file order: each run takes the next waiting addresses, and an address only ever goes to one campaign.
  • Your daily checks: your plan's allowance (Pro 300, Scale 1,000) resets at midnight UTC. The daily numbers of all your drips together can't be more than it. A run's checks count on the UTC day the run happens — a campaign whose window runs past midnight UTC counts them on the day they ran. Until a campaign's run comes, its share of today's checks is held for it, so manual checks on the Checks tab use what's left; the Daily Drip tab shows how many are held.
  • If the verification service has used its capacity for the day, a run shows Waiting for capacity and carries on by itself the same day.
  • Rows that are never checked cost nothing: a repeat of an address already in the file (the first row wins), an address that is already a lead in your workspace (including one already in one of the campaigns), and addresses on your blocklist, unsubscribed, bounced or not an email address at all.
  • Results in the groups a campaign takes are added to it through the normal lead import — new addresses become leads in the drip's list and count toward your workspace's lead limit — and then send on the campaign's own schedule, sending window and limits. A drip never changes how a campaign sends.
  • The groups are the page's own four: Valid; Catch-all (catch-all and role addresses like info@); Invalid (invalid, disabled, disposable and spam-trap addresses); Unknown (unknown and full inboxes). Each row keeps its exact result. An address the verifier couldn't check gets one more run, then stays in the results as Couldn't check — it is never added and uses no check.
  • Pauses: a lapsed plan, a plan without verification, or no room for new leads pauses the whole drip, with a notification (it carries on once that's fixed; you can also resume it). A campaign that is deleted or finishes pauses only its share — the other campaigns carry on — until you click Pick Campaign and choose another; addresses already checked for it wait and go to the new one, while the leads it already added stay listed under the campaign that took them.
  • Edit: the split, the daily number, the campaigns and their groups can all be changed; each change applies from that campaign's next run (a run already done today stays done). A campaign you take out of the split runs no more, but addresses already checked for it still go to it. Leads already added stay where they are.
  • Cancel stops it for good, after you confirm: addresses not checked yet are deleted (the ones being checked give their checks back), leads already added stay in their campaigns, and the results so far stay on the drip's page and in its download.
  • Download CSV gives every row with the file's own columns, its email status, what happened to it (Added, Not added with the group or the reason, Skipped with the reason, or Waiting), the campaign that took it, and when it was checked and added.
  • The flow on a drip's page has the same numbers as a table under it (Show The Flow As A Table), and the dots stop moving if your device asks for less motion.
  • When the last address is done the drip shows Done and you get a notification: "<name> finished: N added to <campaign>".
  • Daily Drip uses email verification, which is included with Pro (300 checks a day) and Scale (1,000 a day). On Basic or a trial the tab says so and links to Billing. Everyone in the workspace can use it, the same as the Checks tab.

Questions people ask

Do I need verification credits for the whole list before I start?
No. A Daily Drip only uses the checks it makes each day, from your plan's daily allowance. A 10,000-address list at 300 a day, every day, takes about 34 days and never needs more than 300 checks on any day.
Can one list feed more than one campaign?
Yes. Add as many campaigns as you like (up to 10) and split the daily number by percent or by a number a day each. Each campaign runs on its own sending days and time zone and takes its own result groups. Addresses go out in file order, and the same address never goes to two campaigns.
Why were some of my addresses skipped?
They were already leads in your workspace (or already in one of the campaigns), on your blocklist, unsubscribed, bounced, repeated in the file, or not email addresses. Skipped rows are never checked, so they use no checks. The drip's page lists each one with its reason.
Can I still run manual checks while a drip is running?
Yes. Each campaign's share of the day is held for it until its run; manual checks on the Checks tab use the rest of your daily checks. The Daily Drip tab says how many are held right now.
