Creating and deleting lists
Lists are the folders your leads live in; a lead belongs to one list at a time, and deleting a list permanently deletes the leads in it.
Where: Leads → New list (top right) · Leads → open a list → Delete list
How to do it
- Click New list, type a name in List name (up to 80 characters, e.g. "Agency owners") and click Create list. You land on the new, empty list.
- To fill it, click Import CSV with the list open (it is pre-selected under Add to), or add people from the Lead Database and choose the list there.
- To remove a list, open it and click Delete list. Read the confirmation carefully — it names the list and the number of leads that will be permanently removed — then confirm.
Good to know
- Lists can also be created on the fly: in the Import CSV dialog choose "Create a new list…" under Add to, and in the Lead Database's Add to list and Add in bulk dialogs choose "New list…". Export CSV always creates its own new list named "Export YYYY-MM-DD".
- A lead is in exactly one list. Importing an email that already exists in your workspace (with "Merge into existing leads" on) moves that lead into the list you are importing into.
- Delete list deletes the list AND every lead in it, removes those people from any campaigns and deletes their send history. Replies you have already received are kept. This cannot be undone. Deleting the leads frees room in your workspace for new ones.
- The count beside each list excludes suppressed (bounced/unsubscribed) people.
- If you delete a list that contained people added from the Lead Database, re-adding those same people later doesn't use your Lead Database allowance again — you never pay twice for the same person. Once they're back in your leads they take room again, like any lead.
