Send a manual email task
Review the drafted email, choose or keep the sender, edit if needed, and send from the task window.
Where: Engage → Tasks → task window for a "Send email" task → From, Subject, Message (Edit text / Done editing, preview), "Before you send" note → Send & next
How to do it
- Open the task. From shows the mailbox that emailed this person earlier in the campaign, locked, with the note "same mailbox as the earlier emails to this person, so it stays one conversation". Press Change only if you deliberately want another mailbox.
- Check Subject (leave empty to stay in the same thread) and the Message preview, which is shown exactly as it will send. Press Edit text to change the wording, then Done editing.
- Read the "Before you send" note if the step has one, and replace any bracketed prompt like […] — the window warns while one remains.
- Press Send & next. The email goes out, the lead advances to the next step, and the next task opens.
Good to know
- Only the campaign's chosen mailboxes are offered, and only Active ones. If earlier emails went from a mailbox that is still allowed, sending from a different one without pressing Change is refused with "Earlier emails to this person went from <mailbox>…".
- An empty subject continues the thread's subject ("Re: …") and the email is threaded with the earlier messages.
- The mailbox signature is added or not according to the step's "Add the mailbox signature" setting; any files attached to that step in the builder go with the email.
- The send counts toward the mailbox's daily limit, is recorded like an automated send (it shows in the campaign's emails and analytics), and marks the lead Contacted.
- When the mailbox has a BCC to CRM address (its General tab), the email is copied to it.
- If no active mailbox is available the From field says "No active mailbox — connect one in Senders to send."
