Connect a LinkedIn account

Connect the LinkedIn profile that will view, invite and message leads in your LinkedIn and Multi Channel sequences, either by signing in or by pasting a session cookie.

Where: Infrastructure → LinkedIn Accounts → Connect LinkedIn Account (top right) or the dashed Connect Another Account card → dialog "Connect a LinkedIn Account" (1 · Sign In → 2 · Verify) with tabs "Sign in with password" / "Use a session cookie"

How to do it

  1. Open LinkedIn Accounts and press Connect LinkedIn Account, or the dashed card after your accounts ("Connect Another Account", or "Connect Your First Account" when you have none). If every sender seat is in use, the LinkedIn Sender Seats dialog opens instead — see LinkedIn sender seats.
  2. 1 · Sign In — choose how to connect. "Sign in with password": enter the LinkedIn email, Password and a Session location, then press Continue. "Use a session cookie": sign in to LinkedIn in Chrome yourself, press F12 (⌥⌘I on Mac) → Application → Cookies → https://www.linkedin.com → double-click the Value of li_at and copy it; paste it into "li_at cookie value", enter the LinkedIn email and a Session location, then press Continue.
  3. Pick the Session location where this person usually signs in. The list shows the countries MailFleet currently holds residential IPs in; the account is given a residential IP there when it connects and keeps using it, so LinkedIn sees one consistent location. The account's card then reads "Session in <country> · residential IP".
  4. 2 · Verify — wait on "Signing in to LinkedIn…" (or "Checking the session…" for a cookie). If LinkedIn asks for something the dialog switches to it: "Two-factor code" (the code from your authenticator app) or "Verification code" (a code LinkedIn emailed or texted you) — type it and press Verify & Connect; or "Approve the sign-in" — open the LinkedIn app, tap "Yes, it's me", and the dialog finishes on its own (or press I've Approved It).
  5. The dialog closes and the account's card shows Active. If the card still shows a name made from the email address, open its ⋯ menu → Refresh Session to read the real name and photo.

Good to know

  • Passwords and session cookies are stored encrypted and never shown again; with the cookie method MailFleet never sees your password.
  • Continue stays greyed out until the email contains @, a Session location is chosen, and either the password is at least 6 characters or the pasted cookie looks like a real li_at value (40–600 letters, digits, - or _). Paste only the value — no quotes or spaces.
  • Codes are 4 to 8 digits. Didn't get one? Check the spam folder, or press Sign In Again: MailFleet signs in again with the details already saved and LinkedIn sends a new code or approval.
  • If sign-in fails with a message about a "puzzle check" or "security check", the dialog offers Use a Session Cookie — LinkedIn is putting a puzzle in front of automated sign-ins for that account, and a cookie from your own browser gets past it. The cookie is stored on the same account.
  • If LinkedIn turns down the email and password, the account stays on the page as "Sign-in failed". Press Enter New Password and type the right one — it replaces the saved password on the same account, which keeps its campaigns and history — or connect it with a session cookie instead (Use a Session Cookie). There's no need to remove the account: removing it deletes its sent invites and messages from your reports.
  • If the form itself is refused — for example the email is already connected in this workspace ("… is already connected in this workspace — use Reconnect on it instead of adding it again") — Try Again returns to it keeping what you typed.
  • After connecting with a cookie, do not sign out of that browser — signing out ends the session and the account will need reconnecting.
  • A new account starts with the recommended daily limits: 20 connection invites, 35 messages and 50 profile views. Change them with Configure Limits on its card (invites never above 30 a day).
  • Every connected account occupies one sender seat; when none is free, connecting opens "LinkedIn Sender Seats" with "All N of your sender seats are in use. Add a seat to connect another LinkedIn account."
  • Cancel or Close during "Signing in…" only closes the dialog — the sign-in carries on in the background and the account already has its card (using a seat), reading "Connecting…" with View Progress. If LinkedIn then wants a code or an approval the card reads "Approve the sign-in" — press Continue on it to finish. If the sign-in fails the card reads "Sign-in failed" or "Reconnect needed" with a Reconnect button; ⋯ → Remove Account takes it away.

Questions people ask

Which countries can I pick as the session location?
Whatever countries MailFleet currently has a residential IP in. If that list cannot be loaded the picker falls back to: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Netherlands, Spain, Australia, UAE, India, Singapore, Brazil.
Do I need to keep 2FA on?
You can. LinkedIn is asked for the code once during connect; afterwards MailFleet reuses the saved session. If LinkedIn later invalidates it, the account shows "Reconnect needed" and you go through the same code or app-approval step again.
