LinkedIn daily limits and LinkedIn's own invitation limits
Set how many connection invites (30 at most), messages and profile views each account may make per day, and understand what happens when LinkedIn itself refuses more invitations.
Where: Infrastructure → LinkedIn Accounts → an account's card → Configure Limits → dialog "Daily Limits · <name>" (Connection invites, Messages, Profile views) → Save Limits
How to do it
- On each account's card, the Invites, Messages and Views tiles show today's use out of its daily limits. The page's Invites Today, Messages Today and Profile Views Today cells add these up across Active accounts.
- Press Configure Limits on the card. Each limit has a slider and a number box: Connection invites 0–30, Messages 0–200, Profile views 0–200. Under each you see how many it has used today and "Recommended · up to N" — or "Above recommended" once you go past it.
- Reset To Recommended puts back 20 invites, 35 messages and 50 profile views. Press Save Limits (it stays greyed out until something changes); the card updates straight away.
Good to know
- Recommended is what a new account starts with: 20 connection invites, 35 messages and 50 profile views a day. When any limit is above it the dialog adds "Limits above recommended raise the chance that LinkedIn restricts the account."
- 30 connection invites a day is a hard maximum — the dialog says "30 a day is the most MailFleet allows". The slider and box stop at 30, a higher number is refused ("Daily limits go from 0 to 30 invites, 200 messages and 200 profile views — 30 invites a day is the most MailFleet allows."), and an account that had a higher limit saved earlier is treated as 30. Messages and profile views go up to 200.
- A limit is only used up when an action actually happens (an invite sent, a message sent, a profile viewed). Retries, "already connected" cases and skipped steps never use up the day's allowance.
- Usage counters roll over each day, seeded from what the account really sent that day.
- Actions on one account are paced: roughly one profile action every 5 minutes (varied by ±15% so it is not a metronome). Twenty invites queued at once go out over about an hour and a half, never as a burst.
- A profile view or invite goes from the account that already worked this lead in the campaign when that account is still picked, Active and has room today; otherwise from the campaign's Active account with the most allowance left for that action. A message always goes from the account the lead is connected with and waits for that account's allowance rather than borrowing another's. When no account can take the step, the lead waits and is retried in an hour.
- LinkedIn's own weekly invitation limit: if LinkedIn refuses an invitation, the lead is held until tomorrow, the account's connection invites are marked as spent for today, and every other invite queued on that account is moved to tomorrow. The lead's activity reads "LinkedIn invitation limit reached — will retry tomorrow".
- LinkedIn's free-tier monthly limit on personalised invites: if your Connect step includes a note and LinkedIn will not accept a note this month, the invite still goes out — without the note — and the lead's activity line says so ("sent — without the note"). A LinkedIn campaign's Invites Sent card counts how many went without a note and how many because LinkedIn dropped it (a Multi Channel campaign shows a "Sent without note" card), its Senders tab and the campaign editor show "Notes paused until <date>" on that account, the account's card on LinkedIn Accounts says "Invites go out without a note — this month's note allowance is spent.", and you get one "LinkedIn has used up this month's personalised invites on <name>" notification a week while it lasts. MailFleet checks once a day and puts the note back the moment LinkedIn allows it; upgrading that LinkedIn account to Premium keeps the note on every invite.
Questions people ask
Why did the campaign send fewer invites than my limit?
Pacing, the sending window, the number of leads due, and LinkedIn's own limits all apply on top of your limit. Check the lead activity lines on the campaign's Leads tab for holds like "invitation limit reached" or "personalised invites used up".
Can I set more than 30 invites a day?
No. 30 connection invites a day per account is a hard maximum in MailFleet, whatever is typed or was saved before. To send more, connect another account.
