Create a Multi Channel campaign
Build one sequence that mixes automated email, manual email, phone calls and LinkedIn touches through a five-step wizard. LinkedIn-only campaigns have their own editor (see Create a LinkedIn campaign).
Where: Engage → Multi Channel → Create Campaign; wizard tabs 01 Leads · 02 Sequence · 03 Senders · 04 Schedule · 05 Final Review
How to do it
- 01 Leads: enter a Campaign name and pick a Lead list. Press Continue.
- 02 Sequence: add steps from the "Add To The Sequence" palette or with "Add your first step" / the + between steps. Click any step to edit it in the inspector on the right (Step type, timing, text). Continue.
- 03 Senders: tick the Mailboxes that automated and manual emails may send from, and the LinkedIn Accounts that run LinkedIn steps (only Active accounts can be ticked). Continue.
- 04 Schedule: choose Sending days (default Mon–Fri), "Window opens" / "Window closes" (default 09:00–17:00) and the Timezone (defaults to your browser's zone; searchable by city or offset). Continue.
- The confirmation offers View campaign, All Multi Channel and View Tasks.
Good to know
- A campaign needs: a name; a lead list; at least one non-condition step; a mailbox if the sequence has email steps; at least one Active LinkedIn account if it has LinkedIn steps; and at least one sending day.
- A sequence can hold up to 24 steps. The first step runs as soon as a lead enters (its wait is ignored); every later step has "Starts after previous step" in days, 0–60 (0 = same day). New steps default to 2 days. The canvas shows each step's cumulative day and the finish day.
- Deploying starts the campaign immediately (status Ongoing) and enrols the list; leads already unsubscribed, bounced or on your blocklist are skipped, and a lead already in the campaign is never added twice.
- LinkedIn actions only get queued inside the sending window and on sending days; automated emails obey the same window. Manual email and call tasks open on their own clock (see Tasks).
- The Skip Automatically choices — "Skip leads active in another campaign", "Skip leads any mailbox has already messaged" and "Skip unsubscribes and bounces" (locked on) — apply when the list's leads are enrolled. "Emails / day" is not a setting here: each mailbox's own daily limit governs email volume, and "LinkedIn actions / day" always uses each account's caps.
- "Save as draft" in the wizard header keeps what you have so far — even an incomplete campaign — as a Draft and opens it (the list shows "Finish setup" for it). Only a campaign name is needed to save a draft; Deploy Campaign still requires everything on the Final Review to check out. When editing, the header shows "Save changes" on every step.
- Editing later (campaign page → Edit campaign) reopens the same wizard with a "Save changes" button. Steps are replaced while leads keep their position; open tasks and queued LinkedIn requests/messages pick up the new wording; choosing a new list enrols its leads; the campaign's running/paused status is unchanged.
- Editing a Multi Channel campaign whose picked mailboxes were all deleted or moved to another workspace: the Senders step shows a red alert saying which went. Tick at least one mailbox ("Picked — save changes, then resume the campaign.") and click Save changes to clear it.
- Multi Channel campaigns live under Multi Channel — not under Campaigns. LinkedIn-only campaigns are built in their own editor under Engage → LinkedIn.
Questions people ask
Can a Multi Channel campaign be fed from an email campaign?
No — only LinkedIn campaigns can take leads from an email campaign. Multi Channel campaigns take a lead list.
What if my mailbox list is empty?
Connect one under Infrastructure → Mailboxes first; the Senders tab links there with "Manage →".
