Feed a LinkedIn campaign from an email campaign (hand-off)

Move leads from an email campaign into a LinkedIn sequence when they open, click, reply or finish the email sequence without replying — pick one trigger or several — so the two never overlap.

Where: Engage → LinkedIn → Create Campaign (or Edit Campaign) → 01 Leads → "Where do leads come from?" = Email Campaign → Email Campaign, "Move a lead over when they…", "Also move leads who already qualify"

How to do it

  1. Choose Email Campaign and pick the source. Each option shows its status (Ongoing, Paused, Draft or Finished), leads, opens and how many have a LinkedIn URL.
  2. Under "Move a lead over when they…" tick one or more triggers: Open an email, Click a link, Reply, Finish without replying. A new campaign starts with Click a link and Reply ticked. A lead moves on whichever trigger they meet first.
  3. Leave "Also move leads who already qualify" ticked to bring over everyone who already meets a trigger once this campaign is running; untick it to take only what happens from then on.
  4. Build the LinkedIn steps, pick accounts, set the schedule and deploy (or Save & Launch a draft).

Good to know

  • Open, click and reply move a lead the moment they happen. "Finish without replying" means the lead reached the end of the email sequence and, 3 days after its last email, still hasn't replied — no reply of any kind, auto-replies included. A sweep every 10 minutes moves those leads.
  • Only a LinkedIn campaign that is running takes leads: a draft, or a paused one, moves nobody out of the email sequence. With "Also move leads who already qualify" on, everyone who already qualifies joins once it is Ongoing. With it off, only new opens, clicks and replies move leads, plus leads who finish the email sequence without replying after the campaign last started.
  • A feeding email campaign that is still a Draft sends nothing, so nobody moves over until it runs.
  • A lead needs a LinkedIn profile URL to move. For open, click and reply, MailFleet first looks for a missing URL in the MailFleet Lead Database (within your monthly lookups); if none is found they stay in the email sequence — and, with "Also move leads who already qualify" on, the 10-minute sweep moves them if a URL turns up later. "Finish without replying" never triggers a lookup: those leads move once they have a URL (Find LinkedIn URLs, or a re-import with a LinkedIn column).
  • When a lead moves, they are marked Finished in the email campaign and start step 1 here. Their activity reads "Moved to “<campaign>” after they … — LinkedIn outreach continues there", naming the trigger (for example "finished the email sequence without replying"). Someone already in this campaign — moved before, or removed from it — is never moved again, and a lead an earlier hand-off moved never counts as finishing without replying.
  • Unsubscribed, bounced or blocklisted leads are never moved, and the Skip Automatically choices don't apply to handed-over leads.
  • A campaign fed this way stays Ongoing while its email campaign is Ongoing or Paused, even when all its current leads are done, so later hand-offs still arrive. A Finished LinkedIn campaign takes nobody — duplicate it to start again.
  • A campaign saved when only one trigger could be picked keeps that trigger; the editor shows it ticked.
  • The trigger acts on every open or click that gets past the bot filter — including a mail-security scanner's automatic click in the first minutes after sending, which the source campaign's Clicked number leaves out — so more leads can move on a click than that number shows.

Questions people ask

Can I feed from a lead list instead?
Yes — choose Lead List. The list's leads are enrolled when you save the campaign and start when it is launched; picking a different list later adds that list's leads.
Can a Multi Channel campaign be fed from an email campaign?
No — only LinkedIn campaigns take leads from an email campaign.
