Lead statuses and the Suppressed view
Every lead carries one status — New, Contacted, Replied, Meeting, Won, Bounced, Unsubscribed or Blocked — and the last three are suppressed: held out of lists and never sent to again.
Where: Leads → Status filter · Leads → sidebar → Suppressed · Lead card → Record details → Lead status
How to do it
- Open Leads and click Status to filter by any status; each row shows how many leads carry it in the current list.
- Click Suppressed in the sidebar to see everyone who bounced, unsubscribed or is blocked.
- Open a lead's card to see Lead status and Last activity under Record details.
Good to know
- New — imported or added, nothing sent yet. Contacted — the first email of a sequence went out, or a call connected. Replied — a real reply arrived (out-of-office and bounces do not count). Meeting — you marked a reply Meeting booked in Replies, or a call was logged as booked from a call task or the dialer. Won — you marked a reply Won in Replies. Bounced — a permanent delivery failure came back. Unsubscribed — the person opted out (link, one-click header, or a not-interested reply). Blocked — matched your blocklist or you blocked them (or their domain) from a reply.
- Suppressed = Bounced + Unsubscribed + Blocked. These people never appear under All leads or inside a list (only under Suppressed), are skipped when a list is enrolled into a campaign, are stopped in every running campaign, and keep their status if re-imported. The sidebar counts leave out bounced and unsubscribed people; blocked people are still counted there.
- Only permanent (hard) failures mark a lead Bounced. A rejection on policy grounds (spam/reputation) doesn't: the lead stays in the sequence. Refused while sending, the email is retried later; refused by a notice that comes back afterwards, that email counts as Blocked and their next step waits 3 days.
- A bounce is only attributed when it can be trusted: the failure notice points at our exact send, or it comes from a genuine mail-delivery daemon in the inbox.
- To bring a Blocked or Unsubscribed person back, use Unblock on Settings → Blocklist → Blocked people; they return to New. Bounced people cannot be unblocked from the UI.
- Statuses drive the engagement filters only partly: Opened/Replied/Out of office are computed from what actually happened — any recorded open on an email that arrived, real replies, automatic replies — counted the way the campaign numbers are.
