Enrich your leads: phone numbers, emails and LinkedIn profiles
Find missing phone numbers, replace bad emails and fill in LinkedIn profiles for a list — MailFleet's own Lead Database first, then Garfield. One credit per find, and nothing found is free.
Where: Leads → pick a list → Enrich ▾ → Enrich Number / Enrich Email / Enrich LinkedIn · runs: Settings → Enrichment → Runs
How to do it
- Open Leads and pick a list in the sidebar (Enrich works on one list at a time, up to 20,000 leads a run). Click Enrich and choose Enrich Number, Enrich Email or Enrich LinkedIn. The menu also opens from the keyboard: arrow keys move, Escape closes it.
- Read the dialog before anything is spent: how many of the list's leads will be looked up, who isn't and why (already have one · no LinkedIn URL — searched in our database only · outside the US · tried in the last 30 days · nothing to fix · unsubscribed or blocked), the most it can cost — "Up to N credits: 1 Lead Database credit per find from our database, 1 Garfield credit per find from Garfield. Nothing found = free." — and what's left on both meters this month.
- Click Start. The line next to the buttons follows the run every couple of seconds — "Checking 340 of 1,200 · 120 found in our database · 85 found by Garfield" — and you can leave the page: it keeps going, and every run is listed under Settings → Enrichment → Runs.
- When it finishes the line says how many were found and where from, plus anything that wasn't looked up (for example "credits used up"), and the list reloads with the new values.
Good to know
- Every lead is looked up in MailFleet's own Lead Database first, then by Garfield for whoever is left.
- Matching in our database is strict: the lead's email is that person's email, the lead's LinkedIn profile URL is theirs, or first name + last name + company domain point at exactly one person at that company. Never a name alone — if two people match, nothing is written.
- Two meters, one credit per find: a find from our database costs 1 Lead Database credit (Basic 1,000 · Pro 5,000 · Scale 50,000 a month — the same allowance the Lead Database uses), a find from Garfield costs 1 Garfield credit (Basic 1,000 · Pro 5,000 · Scale 50,000 a month — the same credits as Garfield Research). Nothing found costs nothing on either. Both reset on the 1st.
- If your Lead Database credits run out, a lead our database could have answered goes to Garfield instead while you have Garfield credits; leads only our database can search wait for next month. When Garfield's credits can't cover everyone at once, the credits of the people it finds nothing for come back and are used for the rest, so only the people who really couldn't be covered are reported as "credits used up". When both are used up the run stops and says so.
- Enrich Number looks up US leads only — country United States, US, USA, U.S.A. or America, or no country at all — that don't have a phone yet (a placeholder such as "--" or "n/a" counts as none; a real number is never replaced). Only a personal mobile or direct line is kept: never a company switchboard or a toll-free number. Garfield needs the lead's LinkedIn profile URL, so leads without one are searched in our database only. Numbers are saved in international format (+1 …).
- A number found shows on the lead, on its Tasks call cards and on the Calls page, ready to dial, and sends your lead.enriched webhook if you have one. A lead searched in the last 30 days without a number is skipped.
- Enrich Email is for leads whose email is bad: they hard-bounced, or an email check said Invalid (invalid, disabled, disposable or spam trap). It looks for a different address at the lead's company — never the bad one again, and never one our database knows is invalid. Garfield needs the lead's LinkedIn profile URL; leads without one are searched in our database only.
- A new address replaces the old one; the old one is kept in the lead's previous_email field, the old check result is cleared, and a Bounced lead goes back to New so it can be emailed again. Campaigns that already ended for that lead stay ended — add the lead to a campaign again to email the new address.
- An address that is already one of your other leads, or is on your blocklist, is never used — and costs nothing. The result line counts them ("already belongs to another of your leads", "on your blocklist").
- Enrich LinkedIn is for leads without a LinkedIn profile URL (placeholders such as "--" don't count). Our database matches by email or by name + company; Garfield looks the person up from their email, and its profile is only used when it is the same person — the lead's first and last name match it, or, for a lead without a name, it works at the company of the lead's address. Anything else is left alone (and free).
- Nothing you or a teammate types is ever overwritten: if someone fills in a number, address or URL while the run is going, theirs stays (and that find is free).
- One enrichment runs at a time in a workspace; starting another shows the one already going. The same list and option can be started once a minute. Unsubscribed and blocked leads are never looked up, and a lapsed plan can't enrich until it renews under Billing.
- Find LinkedIn URLs on a campaign's Leads tab and in the LinkedIn campaign editor is separate: it uses your monthly LinkedIn lookup allowance and your own Apollo key (see Finding missing LinkedIn URLs for a campaign).
Questions people ask
Why wasn't a lead with no number looked up?
The dialog lists the reasons before you start: it already has a number, its country isn't the US, it was searched in the last 30 days without a number, or it unsubscribed or is blocked. A lead with no LinkedIn URL is still searched in our database, just not by Garfield.
Will a bounced lead start getting emails again on its own?
No. Enrich Email puts the lead back to New and keeps the old address as previous_email, but any campaign that already ended for it stays ended. Add it to a campaign when you want to email the new address.
What does a run cost if nothing is found?
Nothing. Credits are only spent on finds that are written to your leads: 1 Lead Database credit for each find from our database, 1 Garfield credit for each find from Garfield.
