Lead Database: Total, Net new and Saved — how you are charged
You pay once per person, ever: revealing, adding, exporting or bulk-adding someone new to you uses one unit of your monthly Lead Database allowance; anything you do with that person afterwards is free. People you reveal, add or export become leads, so they also take room in your workspace.
Where: Lead Database → tabs above the results: Total / Net new / Saved · counters: "Leads in your workspace" (header) and "Lead Database: X of Y left this month"
How to do it
- Use the Total tab to see everyone matching your filters, Net new to see only people you have never paid for (what an add or export would actually charge), and Saved to see people you already own.
- Watch the two counters: Leads in your workspace (top right) is how many leads you keep from any source, of your plan's limit; "Lead Database: X of Y left this month" is how many people you may still pull from the database this calendar month.
- When you reveal an email, add people to a list, use Add in bulk or Export CSV, only the people who are new to your workspace are charged. A Saved badge appears beside their name from then on.
Good to know
- A person becomes Saved the moment their address is revealed, they are exported, or they are added to a list. Someone already in your leads (matched by email, e.g. from a CSV) is never charged either — they are skipped as "already in your leads" and counted as Saved from the first time an add or export includes them.
- Revealing someone also saves them to your Leads, in a list named "Revealed from Lead Database" (created the first time you reveal), so they count toward your workspace's storage like any lead. Deleting them frees the place; revealing them again later is free of the allowance and saves them again. (An account still on monthly lead credits uses one lead credit per reveal instead, and nothing is saved.)
- Saved tab actions are free: exporting the Saved tab or adding saved people to a list charges nothing. Re-adding someone whose list you deleted doesn't use the allowance again either (they take room in your workspace again, like any lead).
- Leads your workspace can keep, per plan: Trial 2,000 (7-day trial), Basic 2,000, Pro 30,000, Scale unlimited. This is room, not a monthly allowance — nothing resets, and deleting leads frees room. (An account that was already paying on 2 October 2026 keeps its old monthly lead credits until its next renewal; until then each new person also uses one of those.)
- Lead Database allowance per calendar month (resets on the 1st): Trial 1,000, Basic 1,000, Pro 5,000, Scale 50,000. This is separate from your room for leads — Scale keeps unlimited leads but draws at most 50,000 from the database a month.
- Add in bulk and Export CSV refuse outright when your workspace has no room left for leads or this month's allowance is used up, and Reveal when the allowance is used up ("You've used this month's N Lead Database leads…") or your workspace has no room for one more lead ("Your workspace is full — … to reveal more."; someone already in your leads needs no room); nothing is charged. Adding ticked people with Add to list never over-charges either: whoever does not fit is left out and reported as not added because your workspace is full, or as over this month's Lead Database allowance. Bulk adds and exports are capped at whichever is smaller and tell you why ("capped at …").
- The tab counts are exact wherever they can be: Saved always is; The tab counts are exact wherever they can be: Saved always is. Total and Net new are exact up to 10,000 matches; above that an exact count is fetched separately, and only when that takes too long is a sampled estimate shown (marked with ~).
- "Nothing saved yet — revealing, exporting or adding someone moves them here." shows until you have acquired at least one person.
Questions people ask
I revealed an email and then added the same person — was I charged twice?
No. The reveal used one unit of the monthly allowance and saved them to your leads (in "Revealed from Lead Database"), so the add found them already there and charged nothing. As a lead, they take one place in your workspace.
Why did my export of 1,000 give me fewer rows?
It stops at the room left in your workspace or this month's allowance, whichever is lower, and skips people with no email, an invalid email, or a blocklisted address. The notice above the results shows how many were left out for those reasons.
