Manual email and phone call steps
Steps a person handles: when a lead reaches one, a task opens in Tasks and the sequence waits until it's completed or skipped.
Where: Sequence editor → Sequence panel → Manual email / Phone call buttons, or the step's Type dropdown.
How to do it
- Add a Manual email step. Write the draft under "Draft prepared for you" — it's filled in per lead and opened as a task; nothing sends until you review and send it in Tasks.
- Or add a Phone call step. Give it a Call objective and a Call script ("notes for the caller"); a pre-written script template is inserted for you.
- Set "Due within" (0–365 days, weeks or months) — how long the task has before it's flagged overdue. Overdue tasks are never auto-sent.
- Add a "Note for whoever picks it up" (up to 500 characters).
Good to know
- Defaults: a manual step is due within 1 day, a call within 2 days. The sequence stays parked on the lead until the task is completed or skipped.
- Tasks open on their own clock: the sending window and sender limits don't hold them back.
- Phone call steps are only available when the calling add-on is on for your workspace.
- Follow-up emails after a manual step continue from the same mailbox the manual email was sent from.
