Protection: the unsubscribe line and bounce safeguards

Add a visible opt-out line to every email (on by default) and understand what MailFleet does about bounces.

Where: Campaign → Settings → Protection ("Limits & unsubscribe") → Save changes.

How to do it

  1. Keep "Unsubscribe line in every email" on (Recommended).
  2. Edit the "Unsubscribe line" text if you like — default: Not the right person? Reply “no thanks” and I’ll stop. (up to 300 characters).
  3. Click Save changes.

Good to know

  • When on, the line is appended to every step in small grey type followed by an "Unsubscribe" link. The link opens a confirmation page; once the person presses Unsubscribe there (or their mail client uses the one-click header), they are marked Unsubscribed and stopped in every campaign.
  • A one-click List-Unsubscribe header is added to every send regardless of this setting, as Gmail, Yahoo and Microsoft require for bulk senders.
  • A reply saying "unsubscribe", "not interested" etc. (or a reply tagged Not interested) also removes the person from every campaign.
  • Hard bounces (the address doesn't exist) mark the lead Bounced immediately, stop their sequence and add them to suppression; they show in the Bounced count. Temporary delivery failures are retried on the next pass and are not counted as bounces.
  • The 5% auto-pause described on this tab is a platform-wide safeguard controlled by the MailFleet team and is off by default. When it is on, a campaign is paused once at least 100 emails have gone out that day and 5% or more of them bounced or were blocked.
