Which tracking domain a mailbox's links use
Open and click links from every mailbox use your workspace's tracking domain (Settings → Tracking), or the shared default. Each mailbox's General tab shows which one and can check its CNAME; there is no per-mailbox tracking setting.
Where: Mailboxes → open a mailbox → General tab → "Tracking Domain" → "Check Status"; change it under Settings → Tracking → "Custom tracking domain"
How to do it
- Open the mailbox → General tab → Tracking Domain. "Links use" shows the domain its open and click links go through.
- On the shared default it reads "Shared default" — nothing to set up.
- With your own domain it shows the CNAME record to add, pointing to fltrk.com (click it to copy). Click "Check Status" to look it up now: "CNAME verified", or "CNAME not found" / "CNAME points to … — expected fltrk.com".
- To use a different domain, click "Change in Settings" (Settings → Tracking). The change applies to every mailbox in the workspace.
Good to know
- One tracking domain covers every mailbox in the workspace; there is no per-mailbox tracking field or switch.
- A mailbox imported with its own tracking domain (a custom_tracking_domain, custom_tracking_url or tracking_domain CSV column, or one set through Zapmail) keeps it on record and the page notes it, but links from MailFleet don't use it.
- Hostnames saved on mailboxes are still added to the list of domains MailFleet will issue certificates for, alongside the workspace setting.
- If Settings → Tracking holds something that isn't a hostname, links fall back to the shared domain and the page says so.
- Check Status looks the CNAME up fresh every time; DNS changes can take a while to show up.
- Ready to Send on the mailbox's Overview counts tracking as passing on the shared default, or once the custom domain's CNAME points to fltrk.com.
